a space where you can feel understood, without having to explain every part of who you are
Living as a Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color (BIPOC) can be exhausting. It often means moving through spaces that demand code-switching, self-editing, or carrying the quiet weight of generational or systemic expectations. We are expected to carry the burden of translating our lived experiences or navigating systemic oppression. In a world that so frequently asks us to shrink or minimize our truth, therapy shouldn't be another place where you have to translate your reality. Your lived experience is recognized and understood here.
So much of Western psychology approaches mental health as people in isolation, focusing on individual symptoms while ignoring the context we come from: the environments and societal systems we exist in. I practice therapy that looks at the whole picture: understanding that your individual emotional wellness cannot be separated from the cultural, historical, and systemic contexts of your life. I hold space for the full complexity of who you are, and I recognize the resilience and wisdom you have inside of you.
As a Filipino American therapist, I understand how culture shapes our values, family relationships, sense of identity, and ways of understanding ourselves and the world. I recognize the cultural nuances that can come with being a person from a collectivist culture, including the influence of collectivism, intergenerational expectations, and the ways our families and communities shape our understanding of responsibility, connection, and belonging. I bring this cultural understanding into our work so you don't have to explain or justify the cultural context behind your experiences.
a relational space to unravel
Navigating a world shaped by racism, systemic oppression, white supremacy culture, racial trauma, and societal expectations is not just exhausting, it can leave us feeling like we have to navigate certain spaces differently or hold parts of ourselves back. People of Color are expected to carry the heavy burden of institutional erasure and generational survival without a safe space to pause.
You deserve a space where you don’t have to spend session time justifying why certain experiences matter to you and spaces where you feel seen, heard, understood, and connected to others who value your lived experiences. I offer a safe space and container to hold you as you are. As we are wounded in relation to others, we are healed in relationships. Relational healing (therapy) gives you a space to experience trust, co-regulation, and deep understanding in a space where you no longer have to carry your pain alone - a sacred space to experience genuine care, attunement, and safety.
We can gently unravel the experiences and expectations you’ve carried, and make room for the parts of yourself that haven’t always felt safe to show. Our relationship can be a place where you feel supported in showing up in full as your whole, authentic self.
room for authentic growth
Growth isn’t about changing into someone else or fitting into external expectations - it is about remembering and reconnecting to who you are. Healing happens when you have the room to shed the masks and expectations that no longer serve you. Authentic growth means honoring your inherent wisdom, uncovering your personal values, and allowing yourself to evolve at a pace that feels grounded and real. You are supported in growing into the fullest, most authentic expression of yourself.
honoring your unique story
Even when we share aspects of our identities, I know that being BIPOC looks different for everyone. I don't assume I automatically know your exact experience. Instead, I listen with genuine curiosity and care to better understand what matters most to you, including the parts of yourself you may still be figuring out or tending to.
You don't have to be actively processing systemic racism to work together. Whatever brings you to therapy, you deserve a space where you can feel fully witnessed and show up as you are.
what we can explore together
generational & cultural dynamics: untangling family expectations, cultural conditioning, and the complex dynamics of living between multiple worlds
processing racial trauma & stress: holding space for the impacts of systemic oppression, microaggressions, code-switching, and cultural erasure in a grounded space
boundaries & interpersonal healing: learning how to honor your personal needs and set boundaries within family or community without guilt or fear of isolation
rest, joy & reclamation: moving beyond survival mode so you can reclaim rest and make space for joy
identity & self-discovery: reconnecting with who you are beyond survival, family scripts, and societal narratives
life transitions & relationships: navigating relationships, career changes, life shifts, or whatever matters to you. If it’s important to you, it’s important to me
moving forward together
We’ll create space for what feels most important for you. We can explore the patterns that have shaped how you see yourself and process feelings you haven’t had room to express. You’ll have a place to be witnessed as you navigate life. I offer a grounding and supportive space where you feel affirmed in who you are and comfortable showing up as your whole Self. In working together, you’ll have space to explore what matters to you, feel understood, and grow into a life that feels authentic for you.
You deserve a space where all the parts of who you are can be seen, understood, and welcomed
